I have an ATT HTC inspire 4g not unlocked that I want on straighttalk. I bought an ATT straight talk sim and had my number transferred to straight talk. I get texts and calls fine. Yes, you will lose your data on the device. However, if you have set up a Google account on your device, your data is synchronized and backed up on your Google account. To setup a Google account, press Menu on the Home screen, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync > choose Add Account > Select Google , and then tap Next > follow the onscreen instructions to enter the account information. I did unlock it successfully, because when I got the new sim it had to be set to be used it but didn’t say it couldn’t use that SIM.
